2016 Design Brief

Students were required to design a garden using the theme 'Modern Australian Backyard'. They were required to explain why they had selected the construction materials, how they were appropriate and innovative. Their use of green skills, sustainability, recycled products, energy efficiency, energy consumption and waste management were also judged.

They were assessed on how innovation and elements were aded to the space and their selection of  plant types for the setting/environment.

The winning designs were constructed by TAFE Landscape Construction students and viewed by visitors to the Royal Easter Show in Sydney.

2015 Design Brief

Entrants were required to produce a comprehensive concept design proposal that expressed their take on the theme 'Beauty Down Under'. The proposal was to include a 2D concept plan, perspective drawing or 3D images, construction details and design philosophy. The winning designs were constructed by teams from Illawarra Institute - Yallah Campus and Western Sydney Institute - Richmond College, at the Royal Easter Show, Sydney, in April 2015.
